Makino Agricultural park Makino Picland

Enjoy picking seasonal fruits (cherries, blueberries, grapes, chestnuts, apples) and sweet potatoes, from late May to November. The orchard is along the Metasequoia avenue, the best spot of Japanese autumn foliage.

Makino Pickland is home to around 30 sheep. Originally introduced to prevent vermin from destroying the orchards, the sheep have now become the idols of the Makino Pickland.

The sheep are found in the chestnut orchard, where they can be seen relaxing and enjoying themselves. In spring, you can even see the baby sheep. Every year around April, the sheep are shorn and you can watch them!
